It doesn’t look like Prince William and Harry will make amends anytime soon as a new report claims the future king is “sickened” by his estranged brother’s behavior.
A source told Star in a report published on January 1 that William feels negatively about Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s rumored plans to produce a movie about his late mother, Princess Diana, for Netflix without William’s consent or involvement.
“Harry is determined to honor his mother and share her story with the next generation,” the insider said. “Harry’s got his deal at Netflix, so when he’s ready to pitch this project, he’ll go straight there, which is bound to set William off even more, since he’s still angry they aired The Crown.”

The report comes after Rob Shuter reported on his Substack that Harry and Meghan were actively developing a feature film on Diana, with Meghan wanting to direct the movie. “They’ve been meeting with writers, agents and producers, breaking story and talking casting,” a source told Shuter. “Meghan is intensely hands-on and wants control from start to finish.”
The insider also claimed that, though Harry and Meghan’s recent Netflix projects have been less-than successful, the streamer is extremely interested in them if they can make a Diana movie happen. “Their earlier shows underperformed, but a Diana project changes everything,” the source said. The insider continued, “This could be the crown jewel. It’s the one project that could make the entire deal worth it.”
A source told Star, however, that William is planning to do “whatever it takes” to “stop” Harry and Meghan’s movie from being made. “William doesn’t want her anywhere near his mother’s story, but of course that doesn’t matter one bit to Harry,” the inside said. “He is absolutely sickened that Harry, and by extension Meghan, will be profiting off Diana. To him, it’s nothing more than a shameless money grab and he’s vowing to do whatever it takes to stop them.”
Harry, for his part, doesn’t believe he needs “anyone’s permission”—especially William’s—to make the movie.
“Harry’s not asking anyone’s permission anymore, especially not William’s,” the insider dishes. “In his eyes, the monarchy failed Diana so they ought to be the last ones in charge of honoring her.”
The source continued, “Harry genuinely believes Diana’s story has been mismanaged for years, and that it’s his responsibility to make sure it’s finally shared properly.”
