Warwick Castle has closed to the public for ten days so staff can carry out annual maintenance.

Staff shared in a post on Facebook that the tourist attraction, run by Merlin Entertainments, would shut from 5 to 16 January.

The closure of the site, which happens each January, was to enable “essential maintenance”, the notice said.

In previous years, the shutdown has allowed staff to polish armour and weaponry. In 2024, restoration specialists abseiled down the castle’s external walls to restore 800-year-old stonework.
