After news broke that Sebastian Stan might be moving from Marvel to DC as part of the cast of The Batman – Part II, his role might have been accidentally revealed by someone from his team. On January 6, 2026, it was announced that Stan was in talks to join the cast of Matt Reeves’ The Batman – Part II, with some sources claiming he was poised to play Harvey Dent / Two-Face. Fans certainly have had plenty of theories, but, much like Scarlett Johansson’s involvement, it appears that Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. plan to keep his character’s identity a secret. Well, until now.
The cat might be out of the bag as Stan’s stylist, Michael Fisher, might have accidentally confirmed Stan will play Harvey Dent / Two-Face in The Batman – Part II. A screenshot from Fisher’s Instagram story of fan art depicting Stan as Two-Face quickly made waves online, before another photo of Stan as Two-Face posted by Fisher also surfaced. Both stories have since been removed from his Instagram account. Warner Bros., Matt Reeves, and Sebastian Stan’s representatives have not commented.
Is Sebastian Stan Actually Playing Two-Face in ‘The Batman 2’?
Michael Fisher’s post is not confirmation that Stan is playing Harvey Dent / Two-Face in The Batman – Part II. The stylist might be playing along with the popular rumor that emerged as soon as his client was cast. Stan portraying Harvey Dent in the DC sequel is not entirely out of the realm of possibility. After all, Gotham City is in need of a new district attorney after The Riddler (Paul Dano) killed the previous one, Gil Coulson (Peter Sarsgaard) in The Batman.
If Stan were to play Harvey Dent, he would be the fourth actor to play the role in a live-action film. Billy Dee Williams played Harvey Dent in Batman before being replaced by Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face in Batman Forever. Aaron Eckhart had a memorable take on the character in The Dark Knight, while Joker: Folie à Deux cast Harry Lawtey as a pre-scarred Dent, with the film’s climax alluding to his iconic scarred persona.
Stan being cast as Harvey Dent might also lend credence to the idea that Scarlett Johansson is playing the character’s wife, Gilda Dent. Gilda plays a significant role in the comic Batman: The Long Halloween, which has inspired works such as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Batman. While nothing is official yet, more details about The Batman – Part II should begin to emerge as the film is expected to begin filming in spring 2026 and will be released in theaters in October 2027.
