Watch fun moments from Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Hart, Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld and Adam Sandler on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet.

Teyana Taylor has planted some roots at the Golden Globes.

The “Rose In Harlem” singer secured the best supporting actress award for her role in “One Battle After Another.”

“Thank you @goldenglobes for seeing me not just in this performance, but in the journey,” Taylor wrote in an emotional Instagram post on Monday, Jan. 12.

“I’ve been at this for 20 years, so this award doesn’t only represent this role… it represents every season, every sacrifice, every yes, every no, and all the love and life I’ve poured into my work and into others along the way,” the New York native continued.

Here’s what we know about the multihyphenate entertainer.

Taylor was featured on MTV’s ‘My Super Sweet 16’

Taylor was a star in Season 4 of MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16.” She threw an ’80s hip-hop skateboard extravaganza.

The episode, which aired in February 2007, is one of the most popular in the reality series. Her party is remembered for her iconic entrance in a Barbie box and an appearance by Pharrell. At the time, Taylor was signed as an artist to Star Trak Entertainment, a record label Pharrell cofounded.

During a recent interview with InStyle, Taylor revealed that she still has memorabilia from the event.

“I still have my tutu dress, and I still have my bike. You could not tell me nothing when I was on my bike,” she revealed.

She has been in music since she was a child

Taylor broke into the music business when she signed with Pharrell’s Star Trak Entertainment at 15. She released her debut mixtape titled “From A Planet Called Harlem,” which included her single “Google Me.”

Years later, she was released from her contract and crossed paths with Kanye West, signing wth his record label G.O.O.D. Music.

Her vocals were included on “Dark Fantasy” and “Hell of a Life” on the Chicago rapper’s critically acclaimed and Grammy Award-winning album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” according to Billboard. Taylor is also featured on the label’s 2012 compilation album “Cruel Summer.”

Taylor starred in Kanye West’s ‘Fade’ music video

At the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West premiered the music video for his track, “Fade,” which is on his seventh album, “The Life of Pablo.” Although it is his song, West does not appear in the video.

It features Taylor dancing through an empty gym and a steamy shower scene with her now ex-husband, Iman Shumpert. The video went viral and has since garnered nearly 200 million views on YouTube.

Taylor has dropped music, multiple albums

Taylor has released many EPs and mixtapes throughout her career, as well as several albums, including “VII,” “K.T.S.E,” and “The Album.” Her latest visual project, “Escape Room,” earned her a 2026 Best R&B Album Grammy nomination.

“This acknowledgment for me is for every album that I put out that I felt like was underrated or not seen,” Taylor told People in December. “That wait is not punishment — it’s preparation for what’s already written for you.”

“Escape Room” was released on August 22, 2025, following a five-year hiatus from music. It includes narrations from stars such as Sarah Paulson, Issa Rae, Kerry Washington, and Taraji P. Henson, among others.

She dances, models, choreographs, and creative directs

Taylor has been credited with choreographing Beyoncé’s “Ring the Alarm” video at the age of 15. Her efforts continue years later with the launch of her own production studio, “The Aunties Inc.,” as media company Revolt reported in 2021.

“I have an all-female production company called The Aunties. Me and my partner Coco started that company and we creative direct,” Taylor told popular livestreamer Kai Cenat last year. “We creative direct, choreograph, style. It’s like the whole 360, we do everything.”

Outside of executing creative direction for own projects, Taylor has worked with several artists in the hip hop and R&B space, from Latto and Lola Brooke to NBA Youngboy, as well as Coco Jones and Summer Walker.

When she’s not in the booth or behind a camera, she has been captured strutting down the runway for major designers.

She has had public romantic relationships

Taylor’s most public relationship was with former NBA star Iman Shumpert. The couple tied the knot in 2016. They share two daughters: Iman “Junie” Tayla and Rue Rose.

Their life was partly chronicled on their reality show, “We Got Love Teyana & Iman,” which aired in 2021. Taylor announced their separation in 2023 after seven years of marriage.

In early 2025, Taylor hard launched her romance with “Mufasa: The Lion King” star Aaron Pierre, who was also a co-star in her “Escape Room” visual album. It’s unclear if the couple is still together following breakup reports.

Other films, TV shows

Prior to “One Battle After Another,” Taylor was hailed for her breakout performance in the 2023 film, “A Thousand And One.” USA TODAY film critic Brian Truitt called Taylor an “emotional powerhouse.”

She has appeared in other movies and television shows, including:
