Following reports that King Charles III will be coming to the United States in April to meet with President Donald Trump, journalist Chris Riches warned His Majesty against reuniting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. “What some royal watchers and Harry’s U.S. celebrity pals may see as a healing moment between a family riven by distrust could end up a disaster,” he wrote for Daily Express. “And the reason? Because for a couple whose TV streaming income is solely dependent on monetizing their life’s drama, there’s no way this won’t become a global media circus.”

While it remains unconfirmed whether Prince William will join King Charles III on the journey, mending tensions with Prince Harry would be unlikely if he does. “Don’t tell me that if King Charles and Prince William turn up with flowers, chocolates and a cake, it won’t become a Netflix exclusive quicker than you can say ‘show me the money!’ ” Chris Riches wrote. “The King and William have spent their lives putting their country and the unique role of the monarchy before themselves. But the physical and emotional rift with Harry will be wounding them.”

Royal author Robert Jobson claimed King Charles III will not have time to see Prince Harry in California. “There will be no detour,” he told HELLO!

Although King Charles III would like to see Prince Harry’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, it could take the spotlight away from the reason for the visit. “While some close to the palace quietly suggest the Sussexes could travel east for a discreet meeting in Washington, their presence would dominate headlines, eclipsing the state visit, so for that reason, it remains improbable,” Robert Jobson said.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left The Firm in 2020, the couple has spoken publicly about the royal family numerous times. “King Charles III does not like conflict and he would love for this all to be resolved but Harry has to earn the trust back. The ball is in his court in that respect,” a source told Grazia. “The King loves his son and he is very sad he has not spent any time with [Prince] Archie and [Princess] Lilibet, but Harry hasn’t made reconciliation easy.”
