Hollywood A-lister George Clooney isn’t done pushing back at President Donald Trump.
Clooney was on stage Sunday night to present the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture along with his “Ocean’s Eleven” co-star Don Cheadle, People reported.
That’s when Clooney took a piece out of Trump, who had criticized Clooney and Clooney’s wife, human rights attorney Amal, for recently accepting French citizenship.
“Bonsoir, mes amis,” Clooney said, wishing those in the crowd a good evening in French.
He added: “C’est un honneur d’être ici,” (“it’s an honor to be here”).
Cheadle got in on the act, wishing Clooney “bonsoir” or “good evening.”
Trump in December had lambasted the Clooneys for accepting French citizenship.
“Good News! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France which is, sadly, in the midst of a major crime problem because of their absolutely horrendous handling of immigration, much like we had under Sleepy Joe Biden,” the president wrote on Truth Social.
Clooney at the time fired back: “I totally agree with the current president. We have to make America great again. We’ll start in November,” referring to the the 2026 midterm elections, when control of Congress will be decided.
The French government had the time welcomed the Clooneys.
“We are delighted, like many French people, to welcome George and Amal Clooney into the national community,” the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Dec. 31.
Trump and Clooney have battled ever since Clooney penned an op-ed in the New York Times in 2024 that urged then-President Joe Biden to withdraw that year’s race for the White House.
