Overwhelmed Energy
Love Aimee Lou Wood. Love her free spirit and her energy, but this Vivienne Westwood gown felt too overwhelming and too sombre for her. David Yurman jewels completed her look.

Quietly Works
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually really like this AMI Paris look on Amy Poehler. It is simple and easy, and the train, along with Boucheron jewels, helps it rise to the occasion. I was not mad at this at all. In fact, it was one of my favourites of the night.

Bridal Adjacent
Brittany Snow wore a strapless dress by bridal designer Danielle Frankel, keeping the styling simple with EFFY jewellery completing her look. Some might feel this needed more in terms of jewels or a stronger lip, but the pared back styling keeps the focus on the unique silhouette and layered construction of the gown.

Pocketed
Claire Danes and Zac Posen have a history of creating literal magic on the red carpet, but I am irrationally bothered by the pocket on her GapStudio dress. Pomellato jewels completed her look.

Déjà View
I agree. The overwhelming feeling of familiarity is off the charts with Dakota Fanning in this Vivienne Westwood gown. The dress, the colour on her, it all feels like a rerun, even though it is not. Fred Leighton jewellery completed her look.

Tailoring First
Some might say this Sergio Hudson suit worn by Diane Lane was not enough for the Globes, but the tailoring cannot be denied. The look was styled with a Tyler Ellis clutch and a brooch.

Modern Ballgown
Jackie Tohn’s Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2026 ballgown tapped into classic Hollywood romance without feeling stuck in the past. It had the softness and presence that suit a moment like this, and she carried it beautifully. Rahaminov Diamonds completed her look.

Deserved Better
Yes to this stunning orange hue on Janelle James. No to the LaQuan Smith dress. She and this colour deserved better. Alexis Bittar and Shay Jewelry completed her look.
Styled by Damien Lloyd.

Crystal Classic
This custom Cong Tri crystal beaded gown was very Jennifer Garner. Elegant, polished, and very her. Boucheron jewels and Roger Vivier pumps completed her look.

Quietly Winning
Keri Russell is quietly winning awards season, and this elegant Stéphane Rolland halter dress, styled with a Tyler Ellis clutch and Tiffany & Co. jewels, only strengthens that run.

Archive Ace
Say what you want about Lori Harvey, but her archival pull is unmatched. She wore a Roberto Cavalli Fall 2002 leather embossed gown that reads like a custom creation because the fit is flawless. Whoever tailored this understood the assignment at an elite level. We struggle to get actual custom gowns fitting this well.

The open back sealed it for me. XIV Karats completed her look.

Cape Statement
Maura Higgins’ rise from Love Island to the Golden Globes red carpet is impressive. If anyone was still asking who she is, this Marmar Halim left a lasting impression. The gown delivers glamour, while the cape brings the drama that locks this moment in. She belongs here now.

Siriano Success
I know some of you remain unconvinced by Christian Siriano, but this custom gown is one of Melissa McCarthy’s strongest red carpet moments to date. It fits, it flatters, and it feels fully thought through from start to finish. A Marco Bicego and an Alexis Bittar clutch completed her look.

Vintage Detour
Odessa A’zion sidestepped the gown parade in a vintage Dolce and Gabbana look, and I appreciated the change of pace. Pandora jewelry finished the look.

Classic Lane
Robin Wright wore a Ralph Lauren Collection gown that leaned fully into classic red carpet codes. This was restrained, and very much in her wheelhouse.

Golden Glow
Congratulations are in order for Wunmi Mosaku, who stepped out in a joyful yellow hue wearing a custom design by her stylist Matthew Reisman. Messika jewelry completed the look. Her GapStudio moment at the Critics’ Choice Awards last week didn’t give it away, but this was a celebration done out loud.
