EXCLUSIVE: Gabe Hogan (Tacoma FD, Lincoln Lawyer) and Aida Osman (Rap Sh!t, The Young Wife) are set for recurring roles in Netflix‘s untitled Will Ferrell golf series. They join the previously announced cast of Ferrell, in his first scripted comedy TV series, Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver, David Hornsby, and Luke Wilson.
The as-yet-untitled 10-episode series follows Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins (Ferrell), a fictional golf legend.
Shannon will play Lonnie’s foul-mouthed ex-wife, Stacy; Tatro is Lonnie’s son Lance, an incredible pro golfer in his own right; Feimster is Sam, a new caddie and possible good luck charm; Parnell is Anton, a PGA Tour board member and all-around jerk; Tarver is Natalie, a social media influencer and Lance’s extremely supportive fiancée; Hornsby as Radford, a rich Southern man who is dating Stacy; and Wilson as a pro golfer who rivals Lonnie, having beaten him for the tour championship twice.
Hogan will play Jerry, Lance’s personal trainer, and Osman will play Crystal, Lance’s childhood friend.
Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor are executive producers of the golf series for Gloria Sanchez Productions. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue are executive producers for T-Street. Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green and Andrew Guest will also serve as executive producers.
Hogan most recently starred as Peter Morris in the Canadian series Heartland from CBC, created by Murray Shostak. Before that, he played Ike Crystal in TruTV’s Tacoma FD across the show’s four seasons as a series regular. Additional TV credits include Warehouse 13 (Syfy), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), NCIS (CBS), Teen Wolf (MTV), and Raven’s Home (Disney Channel). He is repped by Global Artists Agency.
Osman most recently made her TV debut as a lead actor in Issa Rae’s HBO Max comedy series Rap Sh!t (HBO Max) in the role of Shawna Clark, and appeared in Hulu’s Ramy. In addition to her acting work, Osman also served as a staff writer on the Miami-set series, Rap Sh!t, which ran for two seasons. Her writing could also be seen in Netflix’s Big Mouth and the HBO teen comedy Betty, about girl skaters. Osman is repped by WME and Entertainment 360.
