A new rumor suggests that one of the biggest mysteries regarding the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday won’t be addressed in the movie whatsoever.

What mystery won’t be explained in Avengers: Doomsday?

During a recent episode of the John Campea Show, Campea was taking questions from fans when he was asked about Doomsday. Specifically, Campea was asked whether or not the fact that Doctor Doom looks like Tony Stark will be addressed whatsoever.

Campea took a moment to answer, noting that he knew the answer but didn’t want to give away too much. He then simply said that no answer comes in Doomsday, but that the follow-up ensemble film, Avengers: Secret Wars, will address these changes.

“I’ll put it this way,” Campea said. “They do not, nor should they, and that answer will come in [Avengers: Secret Wars]. They don’t, and that’s okay, because they will in Secret Wars. And I think it’s the right decision. I can’t give anymore context or justification or whatever to that. But unless they change something very last second, no they do not explain, in this movie, why Doom looks like Tony. They don’t, and that’s going to be something that comes a little bit later on.”

The mystery of why Doom looks like Tony is one that fans have been trying to figure out for some time. Upon the announcement that Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. would be playing Doom, many believed his likeness would play a vital role in Doomsday and Secret Wars. Some, on the other hand, were unhappy that a proper Victor Von Doom story may be looked over in this change.

Judging by Campea’s comments, we’ll have to wait until Secret Wars comes to find out the answer to all this.
