A new report suggests that a beloved star from Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man might no longer be appearing in any future MCU project.
What Ant-Man star won’t be back in the MCU?
According to a new post on social media from insider Daniel Richtman, he’s heard that actor Michael Peña, who appeared in the Ant-Man films, will “never” come back to the MCU. Richtman notes he’s unsure what happened to cause Peña to feel this way, however.
Peña was a fan-favorite in the Ant-Man films, appearing as Luis, Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) best friend and a former criminal liaison for him. In the movies, Peña’s Luis acts more so as comedic relief, breaking off into storytelling tangets from time to time throughout both Ant-Man movies.
While Peña had never appeared outside of the Ant-Man franchise, fans were likely hoping to see him again at some point. However, it seems like that won’t be the case moving forward. Peña’s only two credits in the MCU come in both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, with the star not having appeared in the third Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Up next for the world of MCU are two major films in 2026. On July 31, 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will release. A few months later, on December 18, 2026, Avengers: Doomsday is set to release, and likely usher in an entirely new era in the MCU.
