The Running Man star Glen Powell is sticking with sci-fi; THR reports that the actor is gearing up to team with “Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail on mystery sci-fi feature Tesseract.
Amazon, MGM Studios, and United Artists’ Scott Stuber have landed Tesseract, with Esmail writing and directing.
Plot details remain under wraps at this time, other than it’s an original sci-fi project from the helmer of 2023’s apocalyptic psychological thriller Leave the World Behind.
Powell is currently in negotiations to star in and produce Tesseract with Dan Cohen, his partner at the duo’s Barnstorm production banner. That means that while the project isn’t officially greenlit just yet, it’s targeting a summer production start.
As for Esmail, the filmmaker is best known for creating the popular cyberthriller series “Mr. Robot” that ran from 2015-2019 and starred Rami Malek.
He’s currently in post on conspiracy thriller Panic Carefully starring Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Olsen, Eddie Redmayne, and Joe Alwyn.
