Drew Barrymore Tearfully Reflects On Painful Weight Criticism At Age 10
Drew Barrymore is reflecting on the pressures she faced as a child star in Hollywood. During the Jan. 14 episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the actress became visibly emotional while looking at photos of her 10-year-old self, recalling the harsh criticism she received at that age for her appearance. Drew tearfully shared the seemingly endless stream of critiques on her 10-year-old body, including that she was, quote, “too heavy” and didn’t look like how she did in the film “E.T.,” in which she starred at the age of 7.

I love you Drew..
I really do.. i think you're amazing..
❤❤❤ Thanks 🙏
What I don’t think people realize is that just like an infant who puts on a lot of weight in that first year and gets all kinds of chubbiness and little creases in their thighs, etc. once they start walking and growing taller, their appetite diminishes, and they grow into what they’ve been carrying around. The same thing happens with a preteen in those pre-puberty years… Which is almost expected and normal to put on weight while the hormones change and adjust. Then during the growth spurt the body changes a shape entirely, and most likely that weight just falls off as you grow taller and a more teenage shapely body. This is all normal so to chastise someone at those very delicate times in their life is just really cruel and Uninformed.
Rescuing yourself by knowing your worth and your limitations and triggers. Therapy does wonders! Even possibly antidepressants or anti anxiety medications. Seek help and prayer!
LOVE YOU Drew YOU have rise💪🏾❤
i can relate to what Drew went through as a child. i too was criticized, bullied, for my weight, albeit by other kids, from grades 1-8 mainly things only getting better when i got to high school. needless to say the majority of my school years were not happy ones. whether it comes from kids or adults, people who bully need to be smacked around a little bit.
Love this! Thank you Drew ♥
