This was further proven in a decades-old throwback photo in which The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom sported strawberry blonde tresses instead of her usual dark-brown hair.

Kyle first shared the picture in 2018, saying the image was taken in the late 1980s or early 1990s — an unapologetically bold era that was reflected in her styling choices. The photo, which also offered a glimpse at Kyle’s dad, Ken Richards, showed the Housewife rocking classic bangs framed by a headband and straight long locks that were “probably down to [her] ankles.” She finished the look with a gold necklace, stud earrings, and a very lux coat.

Kyle shared another peek at this particular hairstyle back in 2024.
“What would I tell 22-year-old Kyle?” she captioned the Instagram Story, which showed her long light hair tossed over her shoulder.
Kyle Richards was a redhead during her ER days
Although it’s unclear if Kyle ever returned her strawberry blonde hair, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member has continued to experiment with brighter shades. During her eight-year run on the hospital drama ER, the longtime actress switched things up by going ginger. That’s right, Kyle became a redhead while playing Nurse Dori Kerns from 1998 to 2006. It’s worth noting that Kyle’s late mom, Kathleen Richards, was also a redhead at one point… as well as a blonde and a brunette. Kyle showed off her mother’s ever-changing hair colors in a 2024 tribute post, proving the apple rarely falls from the tree.

As pointed out by E! News, Kyle showed up to the shop in a slicked-back ponytail, big hoop earrings, and a patterned halter dress — very on-trend for the time.

“Honestly, there’s always someone coming for me,” she told the outlet. “What brings me the most confidence is my hair. And you have to have a lot of confidence doing something like this and going into a lion’s den.”
