Another weekend is here, which means the question of what to watch is top of our minds again. Thankfully, the best streaming services kicked off the new year with plenty of new movies to take a break from spiraling over the latest horrifying headlines.

I keep an eye on the Netflix top 10 list of most-watched movies every weekend to help y’all skip the strolling and get to streaming. Because, as we all know, not all of Netflix’s most buzzworthy movies are always worth a watch. This week, my top picks include a breezy new romcom based on a best-selling novel, a star-studded crime thriller, and a still-thriving K-pop phenomenon. None of these picks fit the vibe? Our guide to everything new on Netflix this month is packed with recommendations. Here are the three must-watch movies in Netflix’s top 10 this weekend. Enjoy!

The winter blues are in full force, so I’m not surprised to see Netflix subscribers still stuck on this sunny slice of escapism for the second weekend in a row. This sun-splashed romcom sees a pair of unlikely college best friends, free-spirited Poppy (Emily Bader) and type-A control freak Alex (Tom Blyth), who fall out of touch over the years but eventually try to revive their annual summer tradition of spending one week together on vacation. Of course, that’s exactly when long-simmering sparks start to fly, and the pair finally begins to see what all their friends and family have been telling them for ages.

I knew “The Rip” was a dead ringer for the Netflix No. 1 spot just based on the premise and stars alone. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reuniting with badass beards in a tension-filled crime thriller? It’s exactly the kind of popcorn fodder that weekend afternoons were made for. While still reeling from the brutal murder of their captain, a police squad led by Lieutenant Dane Dumars (Damon) and his second-in-command, Sergeant JD Byrne (Affleck) stumble on a cache of millions in a derelict house during an otherwise routine bust. Word gets out about their windfall, making their next step significantly more complicated, and fractures within the group start to crack.

Even into 2026, “K-Pop Demon Hunters” continues to top the charts. Netflix subscribers are still helping Huntrix seal the Honmoon en masse with this earworm-filled animated adventure from the award-winning studio behind the “Spider-Verse” movies. “K-Pop Demon Hunters” follows three K-pop stars, Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo), who moonlight as demon hunters, shielding the world from supernatural evils with their harmony. Their biggest challenge yet comes when a group of demons parading as a rival boy band comes for their crown (and the souls of their fans).
