Uma Thurman’s mom is Nena von Schlebrügge, who was born in Mexico in 1941 to Swedish-German parents. She was 5’11 and began modeling in 1957, and was frequently on the cover of Vogue and Glamour and gracing runways throughout the rest of the 50s and 1960s. She was married to Timothy Leary for a year in the mid-60s, and then went on to marry Robert Thurman and started their family soon after.
