The Saturday’s star, Vanessa White, has given birth to her first child. The singer, 36, welcomed her “darling boy” with husband, DJ Emmanuel Lawal, just weeks after the couple tied the knot at Christmas.
Vanessa shared adorable snaps of her cradling her bundle of joy – who already has a full head of hair – surrounded by balloons, as she revealed his name as Sage Remi-Bisaya Lawal.
Taking to Instagram, sharing her happy news on Tuesday, 27 January, the singer wrote: “Our darling boy, Sage Remi-Bisaya Lawal”, with a blue heart emoji. Vanessa’s Saturdays bandmates were quick to share their congratulations in the comments, with Mollie King writing: “Oh my love, just the best!! So happy for you!! He’s so lucky to have you as his mama.”

Rochelle Humes added: “The best news, all that hair”, while Frankie Bridge said: “Awww congrats babe” and Una Healy added: “Congratulations Ness, so beautiful.”
Several other stars also rushed to congratulate Vanessa on her new arrival, as JLS singer J.B. Gill commented: “Congratttttts Vanessa!! Beautiful news”, Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts posted: “V!! This is amazing. Congrats gorgeous one. That hair hunni [heart emojis] so happy for you.” Sugababes singer Mutya Buena shared: “Congrats sis”, while TV presenter Lisa Snowdon wrote: “Oh yay! Huge HUGE congratulations.”
Vanessa had announced her engagement and pregnancy in the same post in November, after Emmanuel popped the question during a romantic weekend in the Cotswolds. She took to social media at the time to show off her baby bump and stunning diamond ring before they married at Hackney Town Hall. She added a caption to her post: “There’s a V and E in love”, in a sweet nod to the couple’s initials.
Vanessa shared details about her wedding, for which she just had two witnesses, including the couple’s photographer, with Vogue magazine. Recommending couples to swerve a big glitzy wedding, she said: “It was so nice. I really do recommend people just going off and doing it on their own.”

Speaking about the wedding, which was officiated just before Christmas, Emmanuel said: “Obviously Vanessa is pregnant, and it’s nearly Christmas, so things have been hectic, so we kept putting it off. Then we realised if we didn’t sort something soon, it wasn’t going to happen.”
Vanessa admitted finding her wedding dress wasn’t easy because of her changing figure. Explaining that most brides have an idea of what they’re going to wear for their big day, she said: “It’s so funny, because you imagine what you’re going to get married in, and for a registry I thought I’d wear some sort of cool suit, but being pregnant, that was never going to work.
“When I tried on the dress, I knew it had to be it. It was just one of those moments where it clicked.”
