Hilaria Baldwin is firing back after a media outlet criticized her for taking her seven children to get haircuts during Sunday’s snowstorm.

The New York City-based “Dancing With the Stars” alum addressed the controversy in an Instagram video posted Monday. Baldwin explained that a friend alerted her that a tabloid had published an article claiming she was “under fire” for taking her kids out during the Jan. 25 storm.

“Do you know that if you’re a mother in a snowstorm, you have to live by different rules than a man in the same snowstorm, according to a certain tabloid? I know. Shocking,” Baldwin said sarcastically.

Baldwin clarified that the family made two brief trips on Sunday: one to a bookstore seven blocks away for books and Legos, and another to a salon just two blocks from home for appointments scheduled over a week in advance.

“I had a great time. We bundled up. It was a little bit cold. There was snow falling, but that was kind of it,” she said.

Baldwin noted that she found “only one negative comment” on her original post, yet the outlet framed the outing as a scandal. She then highlighted the same tabloid’s positive coverage of Olympic snowboarder Shaun White playing in Central Park during the same storm.

“Wouldn’t you know, it’s positive,” she said of the White story, adding that the double standard “kind of does hurt my feelings because you’re asking women to play the same game by different rules.”

Pointing out that other New Yorkers were out cross-country skiing, sledding, and building snowmen, Baldwin noted that the significant snowfall is a rarity in the city. “What I’m asking is, do I have to stay indoors?” she asked. “What’s this rule where I can’t do the same thing as everybody else? What’s the difference?”

Baldwin and husband, Alec Baldwin, 67, share kids Carmen Gabriela, 12, Rafael Thomas, 10, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 9, Romeo Alejandro David, 7, Eduardo ‘Edu’ Pao Lucas, 5, María Lucía Victoria, 4, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2.

They gave fans a look into their family life during Season 1 of TLC’s “Keeping Up with the Baldwins,” which premiered last February.

Following the haircut post, the doting mother shared photos of the family’s winter weekend activities, which showed the kids out in the snow, playing board games indoors, and spending time with their pets.
