Alongside Melania Trump, King Charles is the latest high-profile figure gearing up to release a documentary of his own, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision, set to offer an intimate look at the monarch’s life and passions – and straying from the old royal adage of ‘never complain, never explain’.
Famously, the British royal family have always tried to remain neutral when it comes to political issues (they do not vote, for instance) given the monarch’s role as Head of State and the sentiment that it ought to be down to the public when it comes to choosing who is in power in Westminster.
Yet it seems as though Charles is using Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision (an Amazon Prime production) to make a bold case that climate change – something many world leaders, such as Trump, are now claiming is a ‘hoax’ – is very much a real, pressing issue that we ought to be tackling head on.

The trailer shows the King has been vocal about respecting and protecting nature for decades, with one clip showing him say, “I have dedicated much of my life to the restoration of harmony between humanity, nature and the environment. Quite frankly, it has been an uphill struggle.”
His activism in this space dates back to the 1970s when, at the age of 21, the King highlighted the dangerous effects of plastic pollution on the environment in a speech. Since then, he has “promoted sustainability to ensure that the natural assets upon which we all depend among other things soil, water, forests, a stable climate and fish stocks endure for future generations”, according to the Royal Family’s website.
It adds, “In February 2023, His Majesty hosted a reception in support of global biodiversity, on behalf of the UK Government, with international ministers, civil society, the private sector and indigenous representatives.”
Narrated by actor Kate Winslet, the documentary will show how His Majesty has “upset a lot of people in authority” by pushing the causes he cares about to the top of the agenda.
“We must put nature back at the heart of the equation,” the King tells viewers. “Our children and grandchildren will ask not what our generation said, but what it did.”
