Martha Stewart is speaking out against ICE – and it’s all because of her 14-year-old granddaughter.
On Monday (January 26), the 84-year-old TV personality and businesswoman the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration crackdowns and autocratic tendencies after she was called out by her granddaughter Jude for staying quiet on the matter.
Keep reading to find out more…Martha shared a text exchange on Instagram with Jude, who wrote to her, “I’m not sure it’s excusable to not be speaking up right now.”
Over the screenshot from her granddaughter, Martha wrote, “Granddaughter Jude wrote me a note yesterday. She is fourteen and sensitive to what is going on in our country as we all should be.”
“I am disheartened and sad each and every day that we cannot demonstrate our sympathy for the beleaguered, that we are told immigrants, which most of us are or descended from are unwelcome,” she continued, “that we cannot show our frustration in peaceful demonstrations and that we can be attacked and even killed by federal troops. Things must and have to change quickly and peacefully.”
