Helen Flanagan feared her kids “were going to be taken away” from her during her mental breakdown.
The former Coronation Street star recently discussed her fling with ex-boxer David Haye. Helen, 35, has opened up in her new autobiography, Head and Heart.
The Celebs Go Dating star revealed she felt she was being “watched, filmed, hunted, possibly even drugged” when she had an adverse reaction to her prescription medicine. She was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
And things took a terrifying turn for Helen when she became addicted to the medicine following her split from footballer Scott Sinclair. She told the Mirror : “It was the worst time that I’ve ever struggled with my mental health.

“I do think the medication was really bad for me, but I became quite addicted to it.” She continued: “It just all became too much and I began to experience psychosis.
“I thought I was being watched, filmed, hunted, possibly even drugged, I was seeing things that weren’t there. It was really frightening – I thought my kids were going to be taken away, the nursery got involved.”
Helen shares three kids with Scott – Matilda, ten, Delilah, seven, and Charlie, four. They split in 2022 after 13 years together.

Discussing her split from Scott and romance with David Haye, she added: “He [Scott] really wasn’t playing fair. So I had quite a lot of financial stuff going on as well and the stress of solicitors. I was also totally heartbroken after David Haye.”
Helen admitted she ‘fell in love’ with the former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion. However, she denied being part of a “throuple” with him and his girlfriend Sian Osborne.
In her interview with Daily Mail, she said: “The relationship that I had with David was just David on his own. My evenings were just spent with him, that’s what only ever happened.”

Asked if she was part of the “throuple”, she said: “No, no, no, not at all.” When asked about the time she bought the boxer a Cartier Trinity bracelet for his birthday and delivered it to his hotel, she burst into tears.
She asked: “Did I put that in the book? Oh, god, that actually makes me cry. I don’t know. Sorry. It’s really hard. That is a little bit embarrassing.”
Helen added: “Why did I do that? Because I wanted him to love me properly.” The mum-of-three also claimed: “It was such a toxic situation. Since then, I’ve learnt to love myself. To be a stronger woman.”
