According to royal expert Hilary Fordwich, Prince William won’t be giving Meghan Markle a warm welcome if she visits England for the Invictus Games with Prince Harry. “Prince William blames Meghan Markle for escalating their private tensions into a highly public media circus,” she told Fox News Digital. “He has no tolerance for reconciliation.”

If Meghan Markle and Prince Harry return to the U.K., they’ll likely be met with an icy reception. “I don’t think we would see the working royals even acknowledge their presence,” royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital. “The Sussexes’ credibility has been bruised over the last few years, and the royals want to keep their distance. She [Meghan] felt rejected by Harry’s family and country and wants to focus on her U.S. aspirations.”

However, Kinsey Schofield is uncertain about whether Meghan Markle will make the trip across the pond. “Meghan is typically there to support [Prince] Harry’s countdown to Invictus, but I have a hard time believing she will show up this time,” she said. “I don’t believe Meghan will travel to the U.K. for this event. I don’t believe she will be there.”

Tensions between Prince William and Prince Harry have been high since the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle left The Firm in 2020. “William feels Harry has repeatedly chosen public exposure over private resolution and that the royal family can’t keep being dragged into the headlines every time there’s a new contract to promote,” a source told The Mirror. “Ever since moving to North America, they have eroded all confidence in their ability to keep things or their criticisms private.”

While there’s talk of Prince Harry asking King Charles III to open the Invictus Games, Prince William wants nothing to do with the reunion. “William has bitten his lip, risen above the accusations and knuckled down to the job, in spite of the brutal cancer diagnoses for both Kate [Middleton] and Charles. To see his father stand on a very public platform and salute Harry’s achievement would be tough. But that’s the dilemma the King might face,” Jennie Bond told The Mirror.
