A sweet moment went down at Jessie J’s latest concert.
The English pop star, 37, brought her No Secrets Tour to New York City’s Irving Plaza on Wednesday, Jan. 28, and the intimate show featured Jessie’s powerhouse vocals and many endearing crowd interactions. At one point, she handed the microphone to a young fan who shocked the crowd with his incredible voice.
The “Domino” singer spotted the kid in the audience, seemed to suspect he could sing and gave him the microphone. She asked what he wanted to sing, and his response was her 2011 hit “Nobody’s Perfect.” As the boy started singing, the crowd was shocked at his talent and began to cheer.

While he may have felt nervous beforehand, the boy’s confidence clearly kicked in. He delivered a flawless vocal performance, belting out the ballad as Jessie mimed the lyrics and encouraged him from the stage.
Once he finished singing, Jessie told the boy he felt nervous “because you care.”
“Don’t ever, ever, ever, ever carry on singing if that feeling doesn’t come — that feeling of fear, that’s where you now want to laugh and cry, and your body feels like it’s shaking. Like, that is the thing. That’s it right there. Hold on to that spark ‘cause not everyone has it,” she said.
Jessie exclaimed instances like this one are “the moments I do this for.”
“You probably weren’t even alive when that song came out. Man, how old are you? You’re 12? I would give you a record deal, but I don’t even have one,” joked the artist, who released her latest album Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time independently with Darco Artist Partnerships.
“That was amazing. Thank you so much,” she told the fan, before asking his name. “Can we please make some noise for Noah?”

“Who are you here with? Your mom’s here somewhere? Where’s Noah’s mom? She went to the bathroom? Okay, there, his mom is over here. I was about to say, ‘You’re coming with me, kid,’” quipped Jessie, who turned her attention to his mom. “Your son is so special. Wow. Oh my goodness me. You went to get water and that happened? Oh my goodness me. Your mum went for a wee, and your whole life just changed.”
The Grammy-nominated artist told the fan, “I’m so proud of you, man. I’m really proud of you.” She then hopped off the stage and into the crowd and gave him a hug.
Jessie’s No Secrets Tour continues in North America through Feb. 6, and she’ll perform a string of shows in the U.K. and Europe in April.
