In an email in June 2014, "HRH The Crown Princess" writes to Jeffrey Epstein that she "thinks Tuesday might be suitable."
The day before, Epstein asked , "Can I see you in New York?"
The brief exchange breaks with what has been the Palace's explanation for seven years about the Crown Princess's contact with Epstein:
That they met in 2011 and that she broke off contact with him in 2013.
– The Crown Princess chose to end contact with Epstein in 2013, partly because she felt that Epstein was trying to use the connection he had had with the Crown Princess towards other people, the palace's communications manager Guri Varpe told several media outlets in 2019.
A few days after the dialogue between Epstein and the future Crown Princess in 2014, one of Epstein's assistants sends another email.
The assistant asks what is supposed to be the Crown Princess if she can meet Epstein the following day. It is not clear that the assistants received any answer.
A reminder was also sent from the assistant the same day to Epstein that "Mette" is in New York.
VG has submitted information about the contact to the Palace in 2014.
"The last written contact took place in January 2014. Unfortunately, we remembered the exact time of this slightly incorrectly in the previous round," writes communications manager Guri Varpe in an email.
VG has asked the Palace about the fact that the dialogue in the new documents is from June, not January.
The palace says it is a new error.
The Crown Princess also states the following:
– Jeffery Epstein is personally responsible for his actions. I must take responsibility for not checking Epstein's background more closely and for not understanding quickly enough what kind of person he was. I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take. I showed poor judgment and regret having any contact with Epstein at all. It is simply embarrassing. I want to express my deep sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the abuses committed by Jeffery Epstein.
