Lily Collins is celebrating her father Phil Collins’ milestone 75th birthday.
The Emily in Paris star, 36, shared a sentimental tribute to the Genesis musician on Instagram on Saturday, Jan. 31, as he continues to face several health issues.
Lily kicked off her post with a photo of herself and her father side by side as they smiled widely at the camera. She also shared a pair of polaroid pictures of the duo. She concluded her post with a sweet shot of herself as a little girl being carried by her father.
“Yesterday Dad turned 75 and I feel so grateful to have celebrated together,” Lily captioned the post. “For all you’ve accomplished, all the joy you’ve brought so many all over the world for ALL these years, all the lessons we’ve learned, all the memories we’ve shared, and all the new ones to come, thank you.”
“I count myself so lucky to have hugged you, laughed with you, and reminisced with you on such a monumental day. Proud is an understatement. Love you to the moon and back again,” she concluded.
The birthday tribute to her father comes one week after the “Against All Odds” singer — who shares Lily with actress Jill Tavelman — revealed on the BBC’s Eras podcast that he has hired some professional help amid his ongoing health issues. He previously dealt with nerve damage, knee problems, kidney issues and type 2 diabetes.
“It’s an ongoing thing,” he told host Zoe Ball on the podcast. “I have a 24-hour live-in nurse to make sure I take my medication as I should do. I’ve had challenges with my knee. I had everything that could go wrong with me, did go wrong with me.”

“I got COVID in hospital. My kidneys started to back up. Everything seemed to converge at the same time,” he continued. “It’s just been a difficult, interesting, frustrating last few years. But it’s all right now.”
Phil retired from drumming and from Genesis in March 2022 after he played with his bandmates for the final time at London’s O2 Arena. He cited his medical issues as the reason for stepping back from music and said that “the drumming has taken its toll on my hands, legs.”

“It’s still kind of sinking in a bit. I’ve spent all my life playing drums. To suddenly not be able to do that is a shock,” he said days after retiring in the 2022 documentary Phil Collins: Drummer First.
The musician — who is also dad to daughter Joely and son Simon through first wife Andrea Bertorelli and sons Nicholas and Matthew through his third wife, Orianne Cevey — told MOJO magazine last year that his health issues have also prevented him from making music on his own.
“I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens. But I’m not hungry for it anymore,” he said at the time. “The thing is, I’ve been sick. I mean very sick.”
