Nelson Peltz has spoke about the Beckham feud

Brooklyn Beckham’s father-in-law broke his silence on the family feud last night.

The Mirror can now report in full what Nelson Peltz, 83, had to say at a Q&A at WSJD’s Invest Live in West Palm Beach in Florida. The business magnate used this opportunity to praise Brooklyn, 26, describing his son-in-law as “great”.

In full, Nelson said: “My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story and that’s not for coverage here today. But I’ll tell you my daughter is great, my son-in-law Brooklyn is great and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.”

And the father of ten, born in New York City, was also asked if he gave the couple advice in how to navigate a difficult situation. He replied: “I do. Sometimes they give me advice.”

Brooklyn took to Instagram late last month to publicly declare he did not want to reconcile with his parents Victoria, 51, and Sir David, 50, and accused them of intentionally trying to break up his relationship with his wife Nicola, 30. Sir David and Victoria and their other children; Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, put on their own show of unity at Haute Couture Fashion Week last week.

But Brooklyn’s relationship with Nelson has appeared to prosper in recent weeks. The business magnate’s wealth eclipses that of his co-parents-in-law, with the businessman boasting a net worth of $1.6billion (£1.2billion), in comparison to the Beckhams’ $680million (£496million).

Previously speaking on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, Marina Hyde spoke of Nelson’s huge wealth. She said: “From what I hear I think the Beckhams give Brooklyn a lot of money but not insane money and they have this dream to some degree that he will stand on his own two feet and become independent.

“Maybe Nelson Peltz would deny this but I hear that he said to them that ‘I give my daughter a million dollar a month allowance.’ The one thing they [the Beckhams] didn’t think their children would be doing would be the ones signing the prenuptial, they thought it would be the other way round.”

Despite the fallout, both sides have attempted to stay quiet following Brooklyn’s statement. Brooklyn had said: “For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.

“The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
