Congrats are in order for Eddie Murphy’s son Eric and Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin.
The couple announced in a joint Instagram post on Monday that they are expecting their first child together.
“Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift [heart emojis],” the pair wrote alongside adorable photos of Jasmin cradling her belly and a snapshot of Eric resting his head on her bump.
The news sparked a flood of congratulatory comments from fans.
“Having Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence as your grandparents is life!!! [fire emoji],” one person wrote while another commented, “The funniest person on earth is about to be born.”
Someone else added: “This kid has 2 of the funniest Papas on Earth! 2 comedy legends and both exceptional fathers. Love this for the Lawrence/Murphy family.”
Eric Murphy is the eldest of the “Shrek” actor’s 10 kids, while Jasmin Lawrence is the eldest of the “Martin” star’s three children.

The expectant parents first announced their engagement in November 2024 and have been romantically linked since 2021. They tied the knot in an intimate church ceremony in May 2025.
Martin Lawrence gushed over the couple’s happy news in an Instagram post on Monday.
“What a blessing to start the day! My heart is overflowing with love and gratitude after the announcement of my first grandchild!” he wrote. “Watching [Jasmin] and [Eric] begin this journey into parenthood means everything to me.”
He added, “Family is everything—and this moment is nothing less than a blessing from God. Welcome to the next generation! #blessed #prouddad #family”
Eddie Murphy celebrated the young couple on “CBS Mornings” in July 2024, saying the two “look amazing together” when asked about his thoughts on their relationship.
“We just was like, ‘It’s cool.’ Yeah, it was cool. We thought it was cool,” he said. “They’re both beautiful, they look amazing together — and it’s funny, everybody’s like, ‘What, that baby going to be funny?’ Our gene pool is going to make this funny baby.”
