Actor Timothée Chalamet has seemingly revealed that the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three” may be coming sooner than expected.

A posting on X by user heyzineb has indicated that they were at a recording of the French television show “Quotidien” where Chalamet was a guest.

During the interview, Chalamet reportedly said the first trailer for the film is finished and “should be out very soon”. How soon? That’s not clear.

Filming on the project ran from July to November last year, with the title currently set for a December 18th 2026, release – the same day as Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday”.

The new film will be based on 1969’s “Dune Messiah” novel, which begins twelve years later with Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) ruling as Emperor, married to Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), while maintaining a relationship with his concubine, Chani (Zendaya). Forces plot against him, including the Bene Tleilax – an arcane, xenophobic sect of genetic manipulators who traffic in biological products.

Also starring are Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam and Jason Momoa as a new version of Duncan Idaho. The film will close out the Paul Atreides story and will mark Villeneuve’s last foray into this universe.
