Fans were sent into a frenzy on Wednesday (February 4) when Harry Styles announced a ‘one night only’ show in Manchester. The former One Direction singer, from Cheshire, will take to the stage at Co-op Live to perform the new tracks from his highly anticipated upcoming album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally.
The As It Was hitmaker will be heading to the Manchester venue on the day of the album release, March 6. A post on his Instagram page read: “One Night Only. Manchester. Co-op Live. March 6th. Ticket requests begin Friday. More details to follow.”
The post also indicated tickets would be priced at £20, and said ticket requests will begin for fans on Friday (February 6). No further details about the gig or ticket sales have been released.
It confused a number of fans, who took to social media to ask how they could get their hands on the tickets. The announcement post on Instagram received over 700,000 likes and reactions within an hour, due to previous dates for London’s Wembley Stadium being the only UK shows revealed as part of the tour.

Some indicated the Manchester date announcement may be as a response to not the musician not including the city in his tour announcement.
“WHAT does request mean??!!” one person wrote, as another fan commented: “Just when I thought this ticket nightmare was over.”
One mum, whose daughter is desperate to see him told the M.E.N: “I think this is obviously a response to the backlash Harry has had for not including Manchester in his tour announcement and for charging so much for tickets. £20 is an amazing price but it’s going to be harder than ever trying to get these tickets when they go on sale.”
Ticketmaster said fans are able to submit requests for tickets, but that it doesn’t guarantee them a ticket for the show. The purpose of the ticket request is so that fans ‘don’t have to compete in a first-come, first-served sale’, but gives hopeful attendees the chance to instead request the tickets they want online.
“If an artist is running a ticket request, they’ll invite fans to request tickets so you don’t have to compete in a first-come, first-served sale,” a statement on Ticketmaster’s website read.
“You can take your time to review the available options and request the right tickets for you. All you need to do is tell us which shows you’re interested in, the type of ticket you want and your payment details. If the tickets you request can be fulfilled your card will be charged and we’ll email you instructions to access them in the Ticketmaster App. Submitting a request doesn’t guarantee tickets.”
It continued: “We’ll send you a summary email that details the shows and tickets you’ve requested. Your card won’t be charged at this time. We may charge a temporary £1 authorisation to your card to validate your request.
“After the request window has closed, you’ll get an email confirming if any of your requested tickets have been fulfilled. If fulfilled, your card will be charged, and we’ll send an email to let you know. At that point, you can view your order in your Ticketmaster Account. All sales are final and refunds will not be available.
“If the tickets within your request can’t be fulfilled, your card won’t be charged. There may be other other opportunities to purchase tickets, which you can find on the Ticketmaster event page.”
The news comes after it was announced the star is set play 12 dates at Wembley Stadium, setting a new world record for the number of runs by a a male solo artist at the venue on a single tour.
