The queen of Easter eggs has struck again.
Taylor Swift’s music video for “Opalite” is officially here, and it turns out the visual is stuffed with celebrity cameos, all of whom wink to a moment from Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl album promo from last year.
While promoting her 12th studio album last October, the Grammy winner made a visit to The Graham Norton Show , where fellow guest Domhnall Gleeson joked that he would love to be featured in one of her music videos.
Apparently, this gave the pop superstar an idea, and she swiftly whipped up a script and sent it to Gleeson, recruiting the rest of the guests on the episode to take part in the visual too.
“I remember thinking I got ridiculously lucky with the group I was paired with,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, @JodieSmith, and @LewisCapaldi. All people whose work I’ve admired from afar.”
“I had this thought that it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on the Graham Norton show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too,” Swift continued. “Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory. To my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time travel back to the ’90s with us and help with this video. You might even recognize some friendly faces from The Eras Tour.”
