Paramount has set new release dates for several films.

One is a currently untitled inspirational sports biopic starring “Superman” star David Corenswet as NFL player John Tuggle. That film has been set for a Christmas Day 2026 release opposite Robert Eggers’ “Werewulf” and one week after the ‘Dunesday’ event hits cinemas.

Tuggle was famously picked last in the 1983 draft by the New York Giants, a position affectionately nicknamed ‘Mr. Irrelevant’. He became the first player in league history picked last in the draft to make the NFL on the team that drafted him, but sadly died of cancer within three years after playing for just a single season.

Also setting a date is “Get Lite,” the directorial debut of “One Battle After Another” actress Teyana Taylor and will open on April 9th 2027. Storm Reid stars in the film which follows a talented, but sheltered, dance student who finds inspiration, love, and family in the last place he expected: the subways of New York City.

Finally, the Brandon Sklenar-led modern-day western “The Rescue” has locked in a January 29th 2027 release. Potsy Ponciroli directs the film about a cowboy (Hassie Harrison) must put his skills to the test outside the rodeo.

Paramount’s horror film on July 16th 2027, and “A Quiet Place Part III” on July 30th 2027, are still locked.

Finally, over at Warner Bros. Pictures, M. Night Shyamalan’s new film “Remain” has been delayed. Originally slated for October 23rd 2026, the film will now open February 5th 2027.

Jake Gyllenhaal leads the supernatural romantic thriller based on an original story by both Shyamalan and author Nicholas Sparks. Phoebe Dynevor, Ashley Walters, Julie Hagerty, Jay O. Sanders, Tracy Ifeachor, Hannah James, Caleb Ruminer, Kieran Mulcare, and Maria Dizzia co-star.
