As the MCU prepares to revisit a few familiar faces, don’t expect Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson ‘Kingpin’ Fisk to make an appearance.
The Daredevil: Born Again actor recently explained why his villainous character won’t make an appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, despite rumors that Fisk is now mayor of NYC in the MCU.
“No. I think I’ll just wait until they have the rights to my character and they put me in one of those movies, and then I’ll figure it all out,” said D’Onofrio on The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast.

Whereas the upcoming Spider-Man installment is the latest from Marvel Studios, Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again comes from Marvel Television, set for a March 24 premiere on Disney+. D’Onofrio returns as Fisk in the series after first playing the role on the Netflix parent series Daredevil from 2015 to 2018.
In December, Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton revealed that the much anticipated fourth installment in the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise has completed filming on the upcoming prelude to Avengers: Doomsday, set to premiere July 31 in theaters.

Helmed by Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), producers include Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige returning. Zendaya will reprise her role as MJ, with Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas also joining the cast in undisclosed roles.
