The mystery of one key character in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” may have been revealed.

Nexus Point News is reporting that Emmy-winning “Severance” star Tramell Tillman will apparently play the obscure X-Men villain William Metzger in the film.

The site claims Metzger will serve as the leader of the Department of Damage Control in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the department that served as antagonists in the recent “Wonder Man” series.

Their sources say Tillman signed a multi-picture deal, which potentially means multiple appearances of the character in upcoming films such as the planned “X-Men” film.

In the comics, Metzger led the Anti-Mutant Militia in the “X-Men: Children of the Atom” miniseries and ultimately met his fate at the hands of Magneto.

The report has not been confirmed. The film is being written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) who also executive produced “Wonder Man”.

Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando, Sadie Sink and Liza Colon Zayas co-star in the film, which was shot in London and Glasgow from August to December of last year.

Tillman made a memorable appearance in last year’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” and is currently filming his role as the Ghost of Christmas Present in Ti West’s “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol”. He previously lent his voice to Marvel TV’s “Hit-Monkey” series.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens in cinemas on July 31st 2026.
