Alison Hammond and her toyboy lover, David Putman, looked as devoted to each other as ever as they celebrated her birthday. The former Big Brother contestant turned 51 years old on Thursday, and the TV star has been lavished with praise by all those around her.
But perhaps the most significant statement issued in support of her birthday came from 30-year-old David. The This Morning host and the much younger model have been together since 2023 – and met when he was working as a masseur.
And while the couple have had their doubters, it seems the duo are as loved up as ever – with David more than ready to declare his love for Alison. Taking to Instagram Stories, David shared a photo of himself towering over Alison while she hugged him close to her chest.

He wrote alongside the image: “Happy Birthday to my love,” and tagged her account. The couple looked smitten in the photo, with Alison flashing a beaming smile, while David, sporting a flat cap and glasses, gazed forward at the camera.
As the pair entered their third year together as a couple, Alison previously shrugged off social commentary about the 21-year age gap between her and David. Opening up to Good Housekeeping previously, she said: “I can see how, on paper, you’d notice the age difference.
“Yes, I’m 22 years older than he is, but if you saw us together, you’d understand. People have said to me, ‘We get it now.’” While she has also opened up about speculation that David could get down on one knee to propose to her, and that she may well say yes.

And speculation about engagement previously erupted when Alison wore a pink diamond ring on her left ring finger while hosting This Morning – sparking a string of engagement headlines. Addressing the rumours live on the ITV show, Alison laughed: “Oh my god, apparently I am engaged?! Oh, I have put this on the wrong finger…. Let me swap it over to stop these rumours.”
However, she later teased that she would be open to getting married for the first time. She said while hosting the daytime show: “I wouldn’t say no. I might marry myself…”
And she also painted a supportive painting of her relationship with David, who she praised for always having her back. She said: “He loves it. He just supports me. I don’t like to go into detail about him, because it’s my private life, and I want to respect his life as well. But you know I’m loved-up, everyone knows that!”
Earlier this week, Dermot O’Leary was among the stars to wish Alison many happy returns as she marked her latest birthday. Taking to Instagram, the former Big Brother presenter shared a snap of himself posing alongside Alison in the This Morning studios.
In a gushing statement, he wrote: “Happiest of Birthdays to the funniest, most kind, wise, loyal partner and friend to have on my dance card. Big love Ali x.” Clearly touched by the gesture, Alison responded, writing: “Thanks partner… love this” along with a red heart emoji.
Alison has never previously been married, but dated a cab driver from Manchester named Noureddine Boufaied, with whom she shares a son named Aiden. The romance lasted from 2005 until 2014 and even included an engagement – although they never married.
Alison previously told Gyles Brandreth on his podcast: “A lot of people think I’ve been married… I’ve never been married. If you look online, it’s like, ‘Alison was married to Aiden’s dad’, but I wasn’t. We never actually got married. It was the perfect time but I don’t feel like we were ready.”
