The Spice Girls may have sung “Mama, I love you”, but it was Posh Spice’s husband, David Beckham, giving an emotional tribute to his mother this week. The footballer took to Instagram to share his love for his mum, as his estranged son, Brooklyn, was reported to be making family plans of his own.
Former footballer David popped into Tony’s Pie and Mash in Essex on 6 February to grab some lunch with his mother, Sandra, and sister Joanne. He shared a pic from their lunch to Instagram with a caption that spoke about how good the time was for his “soul”.
He wrote: “Nothing better for the soul than Pie & Mash with mum. Love you mum @sandra_beckham49.” He also tagged his sister and the pie and mash cafe, which is located in Waltham Abbey.

While there, he also took some photos with fans who were also dining at the cafe and signed a few football shirts. David is reportedly a regular at the shop, where a pie and mash lunch costs £5.50.
This comes as his son, Brooklyn, reportedly considered starting his own family. A source told the Mail that he and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were thinking about adoption.
They said: “They both want a brood of children, and for at least one to be adopted. They both know they come from a place of unimagined privilege and therefore strongly want to give back; offer a disadvantaged baby or child the best possible life. They have talked extensively about it.”

David and Victoria Beckham have become estranged from their eldest child during an ongoing family feud. The feud deepened in January after Brooklyn went on Instagram to share a scathing statement about his parents.
Brooklyn claimed his parents were “controlling” and put “Brand Beckham” above everything else. He claimed they also tried to ruin his relationship with his wife.
He fumed: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
David’s ode to his family also follows reports that Brooklyn had removed a tattoo tribute to his dad in what appears to be the latest dig at his family.
Looking as though he is trying to remove any trace of their connection, Brooklyn was recently spotted with an altered tattoo on his right arm as he stepped out with his 31-year-old actress and heiress wife, Nicola Peltz.
The Mirror reached out to Brooklyn’s representatives for comment.
