After Nicki Minaj recently made a hard right into the MAGA fold, it seems like she may be sharing even more of president Donald Trump‘s opinions these days. While sitting down to chat with homeland security advisor Stephen Miller’s wife, Katie Miller, on her podcast, Nicki admitted she thinks that Prince Harry — a fellow immigrant — should just “go home” to the UK.
Nicki compared Harry to a very famous alien.
After bringing up how much she loves to watch the Netflix series The Crown, Nicki got on the topic of her opinions about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — a controversial couple in Trump’s eyes. He’s not Harry’s biggest fan, and he hasn’t tried to hide it, either.
Referencing the movie E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, Nicki told Katie, “Well… I think he should go home. Like E.T, he should go home. Go phone home and then go home.”
She playfully added, “That’s just me, darling. I have nothing but love for them.”
It’s worth mentioning that, like Harry, Nicki wasn’t born in the US either. She’s actually from Trinidad and Tobago, and her citizenship process is still ongoing.
She didn’t like the way things played out between Harry and the royal family.
As a self-proclaimed fan of the royal family, Nicki said what really turned her off from Prince Harry was seeing the way the feud has played out between him and the royals over the past few years.
“I just love the Royal Family, as if I know them. But I think us as Americans love the idea of the Royal Family so much. I was just like… ugh,” she said, adding, “I did not think he should have aired the family’s dirty laundry.”
It does sound like she’s willing to offer Harry and Meghan at least a little benefit of the doubt, since she has no idea what’s actually going on behind closed palace doors. She continued, “People do things and you don’t know why, and you don’t know what’s going on inside of them. So, I don’t judge. But I was like, ah man, because I felt like I knew them in some way. So I was like, ‘No, Harry, don’t do that. You know better.’”
Nicki also shared what made her like Trump so much.
Apparently, she feels that she and Trump are kindred spirits in one very specific way.
“If I’m being honest, President Trump… when I saw how he was being treated, over and over and over, I just couldn’t handle it,” she said elsewhere in the interview. “I felt that a lot of that bullying and the smear campaigns and all of the lying, I felt that that had been done to me for so many years. And I was watching it in real time happen to someone else, and I didn’t think he deserved it.”
Now, it seems like Trump’s world has fully accepted her… but in the long term, this may not end up being a great look.
