Prince William and Princess Kate are “deeply concerned” by new revelations shown in the over three million documents recently released in relation to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A spokesperson for the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a rare statement on the files, which sheds new light on the disgraced financier’s connection to members of the British royal family, including Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.

“I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations,” the spokesperson said from Saudi Arabia, where William has embarked on a three-day official state visit, per People. “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”

The statement marks the first time that William and Kate have publicly addressed the Epstein scandal. William’s uncle, the former Prince Andrew, has faced scrutiny over his ties to Epstein and sexual assault allegations made against him by the late Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre. Mountbatten-Windsor has denied the allegations and, in 2022, reached a financial settlement with Giuffre.

Last year, King Charles III stripped Mountbatten-Windsor of all his royal titles and honors, including the prince title he was given at birth, and has requested that he vacate his longtime residence, the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement at the time.

The late Queen Elizabeth II previously stripped Mountbatten-Windsor of his military titles, royal patronages, and his ability to use his HRH title.
