The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul is looking for love on a different reality TV show. ABC just gave us our first look at her journey as the next Bachelorette, and it’s clear she’s not just finding a new man: She’s also finding herself.
The new promo, set to Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do,” features Paul wearing a red dress as she reflects on her life — and her social media presence. “Millions of likes, and I didn’t like myself,” Paul says in the promo.
The video also cuts to Paul talking about her complicated love story thus far. She admits in one clip that she didn’t believe she necessarily deserved “better” than her exes — including those who have cheated on her.
“Am I worthy of love? Is it even possible?” she asks in the clip. “As a single mom, I want to better myself.”
At the end of the video, though, 31-year-old Paul appears eager to step into the future. She breaks the phone screen she’s trapped in and appears in a more relaxed outfit, swapping the red gown for a long-sleeved top and sweats.
It’s not the only hint from ABC that Paul is ready to break out of the box that people, and even herself, have put her in. A promotional image for the new season shows Paul breaking out of a Barbie-like box. Her accessories include “The Book of More Men,” a cheeky nod to her faith.
The Utah resident and mom of three rose to fame on TikTok in 2022 as part of a community of Mormon mothers. At the time she began her social media career, Paul was married to Tate Paul, with whom she shares two kids. However, in 2022, the couple ended their marriage, leading to speculation about infidelity on Paul’s part. Then, Paul dropped a bombshell on her followers when she alleged that she and her friends were involved in “soft-swinging.” The drama led to increased public interest in the community and, eventually, the Hulu reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Paul later entered into a tumultuous relationship with Dakota Mortensen. The on-again, off-again couple welcomed one child together before splitting up for good at the end of 2024. In 2025, ABC crowned her the Bachelorette.
In an interview with Alex Cooper on the podcast Call Her Daddy back in September, Paul shared what would be so different about The Bachelorette from her previous dating experiences.
“I got married young, divorced and then the first guy I met was the next relationship,” Paul told Cooper at the time. “You know how The Bachelor works. You’re dating several people. I’ve never done that, so that’ll be new to me.”
Though Paul still identifies with the Mormon faith, she previously said she’s open to dating people of all religions. She identifies herself as a “sinner,” a Mormon who is more lenient on the rules of the religion.
“I am not by the book, obviously,” she told Yahoo last May. “I think that goes without saying. But I don’t go and be like, ‘Oh, I’m a good Mormon girl.’ No. But it’s there when I want to go to church. Church is for the sinners. I would hate for someone to go into church and feel bad for what they’ve done. That’s where they’re going because they want to feel better — or I would think that’s why they’re going, right? That’s where I go. And that’s that.”
The Bachelorette premieres on Sunday, March 22, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
