Blake Fielder-Civil influenced some of Amy Winehouse’s most haunting love songs before she tragically died in 2011. The “caustic” couple married in 2007 before divorcing in 2009 following a tumultuous marriage, which resulted in multiple arrests and infidelities.
Blake, a former drug addict, continues to grapple with the Back to Black star’s heartbreaking death – which left the world reeling – previously saying: “If I had known how it was going to [end up], I would have been more careful about the things I was doing and who I was doing them with.”
Fast forward 15 years and the music producer is now coming to terms with another tragedy after his ex-girlfriend, Sarah Aspin, who once reportedly told Amy to ‘keep her hands off’ Blake, was found dead. It comes as Blake, who now has his own family, seemed to be putting his chequered past behind him, starting with getting sober following a overdose…

Blake continued to struggle with drug and alcohol addiction after Amy’s death. In 2012, his then girlfriend, Sarah Aspin told The Sun he overdosed and was put in a medically-induced coma.
“The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection,” Sarah said. “I’m praying he’ll survive, but I’m having to prepare myself that he may never wake up.”
Blake recovered and in April 2024, told Good Morning Britain he had been “clean for years”.
Father-of-two
Blake is now a father to son, Jack, born in 2011 and daughter, Lola, born in 2013. He had both children with Sarah, who he met in rehab.
Sarah reportedly told love rival, Amy, “He is mine,” after it was revealed that she and Blake were to become parents. Sarah added: “And we are a family now.”
Jack and Lola are said to have inspired Blake to seek a more stable and responsible lifestyle, a departure from his former tumultuous lifestyle.
He is yet to comment on Sarah’s devastating death, however her daughter, Melody-Rose Hampshire, wrote online: “No words at all. Love you so mum. May you rest in eternal peace my beautiful mum. Doesn’t seem real. Just want you here and speak to you about your crazy antics. Life going to be so boring without you in it.”
New wife
As of 2025, Blake was reportedly engaged to Bay Wright, a woman who keeps a much lower profile than his previous partners. While not much is publicly known about her due to her preference for privacy, several details have emerged.
Bay has been described as grounded and private, preferring life away from the spotlight. The couple live in Leeds, where they reportedly maintain a calm and quiet life. Sources confirm they have lived together since their engagement became public in 2021.
Bay’s friends were said to be concerned that the romance was moving too fast, with a source telling The Sun: “They kept the romance quiet for a while. She was telling friends that she was dating a music producer.”

Admits a degree of responsibility over Amy’s death
Tow years ago, Blake expressed remorse over Amy’s death and revealed he felt a degree of responsibility after introducing her to heroin.
“For me, personally, I’ve needed to stop carrying that cross on my own. I’ve carried that burden myself for over 10 years,” he said in September 2023.
Admitting to some “huge mistakes”, he continued: “I feel, to be honest, that I’m the only person within that story that’s ever held any accountability, that’s ever tried to say, ‘Yep, I made some huge mistakes.’”

Not on speaking terms with Amy’s family
In the BBC documentary Reclaiming Amy, the Back to Black singer’s parents Mitch and Janice opened up about the “destructive” relationship with Blake.
Blake isn’t on speaking terms with members of the star’s family but has suggested he is open to mending those relationships. This is especially true of her father, Mitch, who in his 2012 memoir scathingly referred to Blake as the “biggest low-life scumbag that God ever put breath into.”
Blake claimed the singer requested the two talk while she was still alive. “We don’t need to be best friends, but I wouldn’t mind having a conversation,” he said of Mitch.
“Amy loved him, there’s no question about it,” said Mitch in the documentary, adding: “It was one extremely caustic, hopeless and destructive relationship.”
Amy’s body was discovered by paramedics at her Camden flat, on August 23rd 2011. An inquest into her death later revealed that she had died from alcohol poisoning “more than five times the drink-drive limit”.
