“Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess has asked me to send this letter following recent developments in the Epstein case.
The patronages mean a lot to the Crown Princess. She is proud to be able to support the important work you do. The Crown Princess understands that many of you – including her – have reacted strongly to what has come to light.
In 2019, the Crown Princess spoke about her contact and meetings with Epstein. It was a sober account of circumstances that took place some time ago. Today, she sees the need for a more comprehensive account and wants to contribute to this as best she can. She is unable to do so now.
The Crown Princess is in a very demanding situation, with several major challenges at the same time. She hopes for understanding that she needs time to gather herself.
If she had known what is now known about Epstein during this period, she would never have had contact with him. The Crown Princess wishes to emphasize again that she was not aware of the extent and nature of the criminal acts for which Epstein had been convicted and had served time. The aforementioned Google search does not change this.
She would like to take this opportunity to thank you both for your consideration and for the honesty in what has been expressed in recent days.
