Born on 5 May 1802 to Raja Virendra Mohan Dar of Akhnoor in Dhar Rajbari, Rajrajeshwar. A barrister-at-law from the Lincoln's Inn and Persian scholar. He was the father of Rai Bahadur Hara Mohan Dhar Esq. also a barrister, from the Middle Temple. His grandson, Judge Mohini Mohan Dhar Esq. Was the Dewan and Judge of Mayurbhanj state. He died in 4 October 1876, due to natural causes.
