Johnny will return for more bloodletting in In a Violent Nature 2, and Variety debuted the first image of the vengeful, masked killer.
In the slasher sequel, Johnny heads to a summer camp, where he crosses paths with a young, outcast camper who is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party.
In a Violent Nature first assistant director Nathaniel Wilson steps into the director’s chair for the followup.
Original director Chris Nash returns to write the script in addition to producing alongside Peter Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer, and Michael James Regan.
Ry Barrett reprises his role as Johnny, joined by Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven (Blood Quantum), Laurie Babin (Red Rooms), Fionn Laird (“The Institute”), Donald MacLean Jr. (The Craft: Legacy), and Evan Marsh (Shazam).
International sales banner Charades has boarded the project for a big market push at the European Film Market in Berlin this week.
“In a Violent Nature 2 is a first feature, driven by a new vision, with more kills, more blood, hopefully even more iconic,” commented Charades’ co-founders Carole Baraton, Pierre Mazars, and Yohann Comte.
“With this sequel, fans can expect an exponential increase of the ol’ ultraviolence with a distinct hook, but one that still collides with storied slasher traditions,” Kuplowsky added.
In the first In a Violent Nature, the undead Johnny embarks on a bloody rampage after a group of teens steal a golden locket that awakens his spirit.
