After her last major tour in 2023, the 42-year-old kept her massive fan base happy with a Las Vegas residency, which she renewed several times before wrapping last year. But between all the demanding gigs that keep her away from the 400-acre farm she shares with Mike, 45, and their sons, Isaiah, 10, and Jacob, 7 — including her current one, judging and promoting American Idol’s 24th season — she’s agreed to ease off the pop-star gas pedal for the sake of her family.
“Mike and others in Carrie’s life have been urging her to stop chasing the dollar and appreciate what she has in Tennessee,” says the source. “The farm is like a paradise and she rarely gets to appreciate it. But that will change when she has time on her hands.”

The source insists the “Before He Cheats” singer will still be working plenty, from music-related projects to her fitness app, fit52. But she’s laser-focused on rekindling her connection with Mike, who’s been retired from professional hockey since 2018. Says the source, “Carrie’s longing to recharge her batteries and reassess what’s important to her, starting with her marriage.”
