Neve Campbell has disclosed that Prince Harry once confessed to having a poster of her displayed in his bedroom during his youth.

The Canadian actress became a household name through the 1990s American teen drama, Party of Five.

Ms Campbell described the Duke of Sussex’s revelation as “a little awkward” but was quick to add that he was “lovely” during their interaction.

The pair even enjoyed a dance together following their conversation, though the Scream star admitted she was uncertain whether Harry’s admission was genuine or simply a chat-up line.

The encounter took place at a birthday celebration for a mutual friend, where Ms Campbell initially had no idea who she was about to meet.

“I went to a friend’s birthday party, and someone said, ‘There’s Harry’,” she recalled. “I said, ‘Harry who?’ (They said) ‘Prince Harry’.”

During their chat, the duke revealed his childhood admiration for the actress.

“He told me that he had a poster of me on his wall when he was a child,” Ms Campbell said.

“That’s a little awkward. I don’t know if that was a line. It could have been a line. We had a dance, we had a nice time. We didn’t exchange numbers or anything.”

The actress revealed that she crossed paths with Harry again at a charity function some time after their initial meeting.

On this occasion, the duke began discussing his grandmother during their conversation.

“He was really lovely,” Ms Campbell continued to tell the Jonathan Ross Show.

“He started talking about his grandmother, and we were chatting, and then I realised who he was talking about, and it was very odd.”

The penny dropped for Ms Campbell that Harry was referring to the late Queen Elizabeth II, making for a surreal moment as she grasped the significance of their casual exchange about family.

Ms Campbell also spoke about her return to the Scream franchise, reprising her iconic role as Sidney Prescott in the forthcoming seventh instalment.

The original film was released three decades ago in 1996, and the actress expressed enthusiasm about the latest entry, describing it as “great” and “really good”.

She explained that the filmmakers approached her with a vision to explore where Sidney is now in her life journey, portraying her as a mother to a teenage daughter played by Isabel May, whom Ms Campbell praised as “fantastic”.

The studio is maintaining strict secrecy around the production, with nobody permitted to view the film until its release date.
