There were many of my personal favorites including the original HUGS blanket by Minky Couture, which is designed to feel like a warm hug. The luxury and comfort blankets are made with soft and stretchy fabric. The female-owned and operated company was founded in 2009 by Sandi Hendry when her daughter became ill and was hospitalized for months. Sandi longed for a way to bring comfort to her daughter during that difficult period. Her daughter asked for a “big baby blanket” to snuggle with during her recovery. After searching for a blanket that would be perfect for her daughter, Sandi created the first-ever cozy adult-size Minky Couture blanket. In 2025, Minky Couture donated $5.5 million in retail value to individuals, hospitals, organizations and communities in need.
