Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann are celebrating their love at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
On Saturday, Feb. 14, the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star, 62, celebrated Valentine’s Day by sharing a rare photo of herself and her husband, 58, cozying up while enjoying this year’s Olympic Games in Italy.
Alongside a photo of the pair wearing beanies and gloves in front of the snowy slopes, Hargitay wrote, “I love you Peter Hermann♥️.”
Moments later, the actress also celebrated her “Galentine” by sharing another photo of herself kissing Snoop Dogg’s T-shirt, which featured Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn’s face on it.
“And sending a little love to my Galentine @lindseyvonn 😘,” she wrote in the caption.
While Hargitay often opts to keep her marriage out of the spotlight, she does occasionally share a glimpse into her and Hermann’s sweet romance since meeting on the set of Law & Order: SVU in 1999, when Hermann guest-starred as defense attorney Trevor Langan in season 3.
“He was very handsome, and it was a distraction,” Hargitay said during a January 2022 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. She recalled thinking to herself, “Who is that Clark Gable, Superman guy that I need to marry today?”
“I’d never been like that to anyone ever,” she added.
After they tied the knot in 2004, Hargitay gave birth to son August (now 18) two years later at age 42. She and Hermann later welcomed kids Amaya, 14, and Andrew, 13, through adoption within six months of each other.
“I don’t know if I could have handled it when I was younger,” she told PEOPLE of being an older mom in January 2024. “When I was younger, I wasn’t as present, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to accept and appreciate.”

More recently, the entire Hermann family posed for family photos on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival, where they all went to support Hargitay at the premiere of her documentary, My Mom Jayne.
“Being in Cannes with the family was kind of like tectonic plates shifting,” she told InStyle in June. “[To] see my children proud of me. It was so beautiful.”
Since the documentary explores the life and tragic death of Hargitay’s mother, Jayne Mansfield, Hermann surprised her with her late mom’s grand piano last year for her 60th birthday — though his methods to keep the secret from her were making her increasingly nervous.
“I’m sure that my husband’s gonna have me whacked,” she remembered thinking after her husband told her to get into a mysterious Uber. “I’m so scared. I was like, ‘I did nothing but be a perfect wife!’ “
Eventually, she arrived at a warehouse where her family and co-producer, Trish Adlesic, were waiting for her alongside Mansfield’s piano.
“It was so magnificent,” Hargitay raved of the gift. “It was one of the best things in my life. It was a reclamation. It was everything that I wanted — and it was a surprise, so it was extraordinary.”
