AJ Styles’ future in pro wrestling is still uncertain, even after he lost a retirement match to GUNTHER at Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia late last month. After initially leaving his gloves in the ring, the Phenomenal One dramatically put them back on before he went backstage. He later explained his decision to do so was driven by the realization that he could very well wrestle another match.
He’s just not sure when that could be. Royal Rumble may have been the end for him for good, but it also may very well just be the end for right now.
It was just days ago that rumors and reports were going around that Styles’ future remains unclear and he is still in talks with WWE, whatever that means. The next step, for now at least, is a tribute show the company will hold for him next week in Atlanta:
“Indeed ladies and gentlemen, Monday Night Raw next week in the state of Georgia, the home state of one AJ Styles, we will pay tribute to one of the all time greats of the wrestling ring.”
What exactly will that entail?
I guess we will all find out next week.
