Amber Glenn Cries After Her Short Program At Winter Olympics
Women’s single figure skating kicked off on Feb. 17, with short programs filled with both joy and heartbreak for Team USA as Alysa Liu’s stunning performance put her in third place, while Amber Glenn was in tears as she landed in 13th. Although Amber was one of only two skaters who did a triple axel in Tuesday’s short program. She did not complete her triple loop later during her skate, which the judges scored as an invalid element. This meant she didn’t get any points for that and brought her down to 13th place. From the moment she made her way off the ice, Amber was in tears and was visibly emotional after she got her score. But while Amber had a heartbreaking day on the ice, Alysa Liu dominated — skating a beautiful program that put her in third place. Alysa, Isabeau Levito and Amber will represent Team USA on the ice again on Feb. 19 for the free skate. The results from that skate will determine who medals in the women’s single skate. The 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics air through Feb. 22 on NBC and Peacock.
