Jelly Roll, 41, and his wife Bunnie Xo, 46, share plenty of dreams, but one of the biggest ones they’ve spoken about publicly in recent years is becoming parents together to babies, who share their DNA.
The married couple, who share custody of Jelly Roll’s two kids from previous relationships — Bailee Ann, 17, and Noah Buddy, 9 — have been open and honest about their difficult journey with trying to expand their family. In past interviews and on Instagram, the celebrities have talked about Bunnie Xo undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF), and she even discussed that emotional experience on her popular Dumb Blonde podcast.
The Pair Began Their Journey Toward Having Kids in 2019
In her new memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, and according toPeople, Bunnie Xo revealed she and Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, began their fertility journey on Oct. 31, 2019, writing, “I can’t help but giggle because a Halloween date is so fitting for us. I call us ‘the Addams family’ of country music.”
Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, also noted, “I’ve waited this long to have kids with someone I knew would be a great father— and to be able to make sure they have the best life.”
Now, their wait is nearly over.
The model and influencer has revealed she and the “Save Me” singer have taken the next major step toward making their baby dreams come true. They’ve found a surrogate, someone who she describes as an amazing and “selfless” human being.
“Now that we’re finally stable financially and somewhat emotionally after all the healing we’ve done over this decade together, we’re talking about the future, including growing our family,” she wrote in the book, according to the outlet. “J and I have a surrogate, the sweetest woman ever, and soon I’ll be starting my IVF stims.”
IVF stimulation is a key phase of in vitro fertilization in which hormone medications are used to encourage the ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs during a single cycle. The goal is to maximize the number of eggs available for retrieval, increasing the chances of creating healthy embryos.
They Hope to Have Twins
In addition to finding someone to carry their babies, Bunnie Xo shared that she and Jelly Roll, who tied the knot in 2016, have their hearts set on twins.
“We’re going to raise these babies in love and give them everything we were never given. I can’t wait to see a piece of me and him running around outside of our bodies,” Bunnie Xo writes. “With how much IVF has advanced over the years and with the help of the most unselfish woman willing to carry twins for us, we’ll be able to make our baby dreams come true.”
