Does Tom Cruise really want Oscar winner Chloé Zhao to write and direct a ninth Mission: Impossible film?!
Okay, let’s take a deep breath and think this one through. The Deuxmoi rumor that Cruise wants the Hamnet and Nomadland writer and director to lead a ninth Mission: Impossible movie just doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Sure, it’s an outside-the-box idea, but Cruise literally just made his Mission: Impossible swan song with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. That movie was as clear a send-off for Ethan Hunt as could possibly be.
Zhao is busy campaigning for Hament on the Oscar circuit; there are absolutely no legitimate reports out there that link her to Cruise or the Mission: Impossible franchise. This is all just internet fodder for now.
We would definitely see that hypothetical movie if it actually happened, but this probably isn’t real.
