Hailey Bieber has given an adorable update on her motherhood journey as she revealed her son Jack Blues’ unlikely favourite word. The model and businesswoman, who welcomed the 16-month-old with husband Justin Bieber in 2024, has kept much of his upbringing so far private.
However, Hailey, 29, shared some small snippets of their family life in a new interview with influencer Jake Shane on his Therapuss podcast. The Rhode founder disclosed that Jack had recently started to talk, and she shared his surprising favorite word.
Hailey said: “He talks a lot about basketball. He says ‘basketball’ all the time. I went to get him up from his nap today, and he was like ‘basketball’. He’s just…it’s insane. So funny.”
His father Justin is known to be a passionate fan of the sport and plays it himself. In 2011, he took part in the 2011 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, and plays in his LA-based team, Skylrk, that he launched last year

It also appears that little Jack already knows his manners, with another go-to word being ‘please’. Hailey continued: “He also just started saying please. He knew how to sign please for a really long time. So if I would say, hey, ‘say please’, he would go this, as please.” She simultaneously demonstrated sign language for the word.
When the host asked if Jack ever listens to Justin’s music, Hailey revealed that he has been enjoying the singer’s 2010 hit ‘Baby’. “He does. He’s being saying, ‘Baby, oh, baby, oh, baby, oh’,” she said, before adding that it had started “literally in the last two days”.
Hailey also spoke about how she was finding parenting. “It is so fun,” she shared. “I always knew I wanted kids, I always wanted to be a mum. And then when it happens, you never know what to expect and you don’t know what it’s going to be like. And it honestly it’s so much fun.”

The star, who wed 31-year-old Justin in 2018, was also asked what no one warned her about before having children. “It’s a whole bunch of you just don’t know what’s going to happen until you get there,” she explained. “I think something that I feel did surprise me, though, was I. I feel like I’m a lot more relaxed as a mum than I thought I would be. I think especially as a first-time mum.”
Hailey also revealed her desire to expand her brood. “I definitely do want one more,” she shared. “I’m not in a rush, but I definitely want one more. Maybe I’ll have four more. Maybe I’ll have three. I don’t know, I really don’t know. I’m just taking it one day at a time.”
